Today for the summer learning journey task day three task one I did the kowhaiwhai template.
First I read about tanerore, watched a video about kapa haka and how they were singing a waiata in front of an audience.
Next I drew a desing of a koruwai on a kowhaiwhai template, I had to rotate the desing to make it look like something different.
Lastly I put togerther the desing and made it look like a unique and neet presentation.
I enjoyed making this maori desing because it was interesting and fun to do.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Renee and I am from the Summer Learning Journey Team. Ka pai on your work on this awesome kowhaiwhai design. The design is very beautiful and professional looking and reminds me of some designs I have seen on wharae at maraes.
What was your inspiration for this design? How did you select the background colour? I love it! Did youfind this activity easy or challenging? Your kowhaiwhai design makes me think of the fronze of a silver fern plant, growing in the native bush.
Ngā mihi nui and keep up the excellent mahi - I can’t wait to see your other posts over the summer.
